Lucid’s Body Structures Team is looking for a Sr. Engineer to design and deliver world leading Body Structures for our electric vehicle platforms - Upper Body.

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
· California (Bay Area) - $115,000-$165,000

Responsible for the design and development of weight efficient automotive BIW Structural parts and assemblies to deliver the highest level of performance in NVH, Durability and Crashworthiness performance from a blank page into production with experience developing upper body assemblies.Design with excellence at system and component level with great attention to every detail creating optimized for performance, size, weight, durability and costWork closely with both internal teams and external suppliers using creativity and teamwork to integrate multiple systems in the most efficient way possibleWork closely with other stakeowners and attribute owners across the company such as Vehicle Safety, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Manufacturing, Design Studio, etc. to create world class designsCollaboration with cross functional teams such as CAE by interpreting and using analysis results to guide and evolve the designCollaboration with manufacturing to ensure efficient process sequence and build qualityCross functionally work with Manufacturing, Design and Product Development as well as with Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Stamping and Suppliers on items such as tool buy-offs and secondary component changesAbility to create testing plan and conduct / coordinate physical tests to prove out design concepts and ensure performance targets are being achievedPerform detailed analysis of section properties, materials and manufacturing processes through benchmarking activities to understand competitiveness of designsCoordinate virtual engineering and physical validation testing activities for your designsCoordinate and communicate with interfacing suppliersEffectively provide direction to others and negotiate a balanced solutionDetermine required tolerances using GD&TTravel domestically and internationally as requiredQualifications:
5+ years of expertise in automotive Body Structures systems and sub-systems at OEM or supplier desiredExperience working with Class A surface dataExperience in prototype assembly and production assembly with the willingness to assemble your own partsExperience in technology, system and supplier selection Experience in full life cycle development from concept to prototype to full productionAdvantageous:
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and joining applicable for body structures such as castings, extrusions, cold and hot form stampings, their advantages, and limitations Recent and extensive design release BIW structures experience preferredAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucialDetail oriented personality with a determined problem-solving attitude using an Engineering first principles approachDesign release engineering experience including engineering change management and project management experiencesA strong understanding of various analysis tools such as ANSYS, OptiStruct, MatLab, ADAMS, etc.Proof of excellence in your past position, while demonstrating profound creativity in resolving mechanical design problemsProven 3D CAD skills, proficient with CATIA V5/V6 or similar softwareSolid track record of successful system level integrationEducation:
