Role Summary
The Self-Driving Continuous Improvement Engineer is responsible for working cross-functionally to improve process performance at our manufacturing facility in Normal, IL.
Responsibilities
- Maintain vehicle test records for advanced driver assistance system calibration
- Identify and isolate trends in test results with statistical analysis
- Modifying and creating new processes to improve vehicle test performance, and improve cycle time for testing
- Work with manufacturing team to improve build processes and subsequent test results
- Record supplier quality issues, and work with design responsible engineers and companies to address root causes
- Record and report on commissioning failures that result in vehicle rework and exceeding takt time
- End of line testing, development of new processes and tests performed on manufacturing line and completed vehicles
- Monitor, create, and provide test result performance data for KPI boards
- Develop presentations and communication boards to score vehicle manufacturing, and drive process errors to zero
Qualifications
- BS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in engineering, science, statistics, or mathematics
- 3 years minimum experience or 5+ years for Senior level
- Experience in manufacturing with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and requirements
- Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma Greenbelt or similar continual improvement program experience
- Knowledge of APQP (design for quality)
- Statistical process control / control charts
- Measurement system analysis (GR&R)
- Experience with a math or statistics-based software suite such as Minitab or Tableau
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
