ICON is looking for a Software Engineer to join our BuildOS team. ICON develops advanced construction technologies that advance humanity. Using proprietary 3D printing robotics, software and advanced materials, ICON is shifting the paradigm of homebuilding on Earth and beyond. As a Software Engineer at ICON, you will work across software systems to create tools, services, and interfaces that are revolutionizing the construction industry. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX lab and will report to the Director of BuildOS on ICON’s BuildOS team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with some of the world’s leading engineering and creative professionals to build a new technology ecosystem from the ground up.
- Build new systems instead of servicing technical debt; there is virtually no legacy in our tech stack.
- Push the limits of what is possible in construction automation and improve our end product for developers, builders, and homeowners.
- Solve complex problems and appreciate the value of prototyping and refining applications over time.
- Contribute to each layer of production software; move between server side, database, front-end, deployment, and scaling.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1+ years professional experience as a software engineer.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience building platforms, micro-services, and API’s.
- A demonstrated ability to learn and develop new skills.
- An ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both in-person and written.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Node.JS and TypeScript experience, with a functional programming approach.
- React, Redux, and RxJs experience.
- Flutter, React Native, or Android development experience.
- PostgreSQL, GraphQL experience.
- Modern CI/CD workflows: GitHub, Jenkins, Travis, etc.
- Experience with tools and services that leverage three-dimensional trigonometry to calculate and analyze shapes and tool paths.
