ICON is seeking a talented, high-performing and motivated design generalist to join our fast growing BuildOS team of developers, designers and technologists. As a UI Designer, you’ll play a critical role across many challenging products and projects. ICON is an early-stage company, with a highly collaborative environment. Our flexible work schedule and open office culture set us apart; to make that work we’re looking for a responsible, efficient, and seasoned designer.
This role reports to the Director of BuildOS and is based in our Austin, TX lab.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design rich user-interface solutions across a range of platforms and devices.
- Ensure interactive and visual designs achieve the highest level of usability, desirability and customer satisfaction.
- Execute design from initial concept development, to wire framing/prototyping, to visual design.
- Develop and maintain our interactive prototypes and design systems for the BuildOS suite of products.
- Contribute to complex projects with the ability to work well with ambiguity or when requirements are in ongoing development.
- Rapidly iterate, prototype and test new design ideas. Apply the learnings to future iterations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A compelling online portfolio demonstrating full design process execution, an understanding of UI design patterns and systems, and excellent design skills.
- 5+ years professional product design experience.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Fine Art, HCI, or equivalent experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solid foundation in best practices and principles of UI.
- Experience designing interactive products for desktop and mobile.
- Experience creating, expanding and maintaining design systems for a suite of products.
- Proficient using design and prototyping tools: Figma, Invision, Illustrator.
- Ability to iterate through various stages of ideation: Low Fidelity Designs (Wireframes), High Fidelity Deliverables.
- Ability to speak expressively about design and development with any audience.
- Demonstrable track record designing enterprise web and mobile applications and/or Rich Internet Application (RIA) design
