As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work on cross-functional teams across Fluence’s Product team to develop safe, high performing, reliable, and cost effective energy storage products.

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the following::
Work as a systems engineer on multi-disciplinary teams of engineers to deliver MW-scale energy storage productsDevelop high level system architecture and collaborate with product management on high level product requirementDevelop detailed system-level and subsystem hardware and software requirements, making use of common industry requirements management toolsProvide technical leadership in collaborative process with product managers to determine allowable product configurations and future product architectureConduct product safety assessments, failure mode analyses, risk assessments, hazard assessments (i.e. DFMEA, HARA)Conduct design trade-off studies to optimize between design flexibility, capital cost, operating cost, functionality, performance, maintainability, and continuity with existing Fluence productsIncorporate lessons learned from previous product deployments and testing into product requirementsDevelop system design documents, customer documentation, and user manualsCreate boundary diagrams, interface control documents, and subsystem requirementsPerform system failure mode and risk analysis (i.e. DFMEA, HARA)Develop system test plans and coordinate with Fluence lab team to determine full scale system testing strategyWhat will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
Passion for energy storage, collaborative engineering, and learning from othersBachelors' or Masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar7+ years industry experience, with background in renewable energy systems, power conversion, energy storage, PV, power systems control, or similar fieldTechnical knowledge in broad area of engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Safety, Test/Validation)Experience developing products to meet safety standards. Familiarity with energy storage standards (i.e. UL9540, IEC62933) is a plusStrong problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenWillingness to travel
