Role Description
The Senior Product Designer will play a central role in software product development at Form Energy. You will join the Software & Analytics organization’s Product Management & Design team, and lead product design across multiple software product verticals and company business initiatives. As the first dedicated product designer at Form Energy, you’ll chart a course for the product design function as the company scales. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your design experience while directly impacting climate change as part of a fast-growing team.

The Pittsburgh salary range for this role is $120,700-$148,800. The Massachusetts salary range for this role is $126,735-$156,240. The California salary range for this role is $138,805-$171,120. The range listed is what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and may be modified in the future. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

What You'll Do:
Design software products, features, and tools for multiple product verticals that support our iron air battery energy storage system technology.Immerse yourself in the needs and pain points of users and stakeholders both internal and external to the company. Conduct qualitative and quantitative research into priority business initiatives, user workflows, data needs, and functional requirements. Create prototypes, mock-ups, and a range of relevant design artifacts and assets to inform product development activities.Collaborate closely with product managers, software engineers, data scientists and analysts to ensure that design requirements and specifications are clear, communicated, documented, and organized.Advocate for design best practices across the company, and lead by example.Act as a collaborative member of multiple distributed software product teams.What You'll Bring:
Passion for our mission, sustainability, and tackling climate change.5+ years of experience designing software and data products, data visualizations, data intensive user interfaces, or workflow web applications. Ability to translate and harmonize physical in-person hardware product touchpoints with a parallel digital experience. A pragmatic approach to problem-solving that blends good judgment, clear communication, follow-through, and creative use of resources.User research tools and an empathy for users. Expertise with design software (e.g. Figma, Sketch) and experience leveraging design systems and component / pattern libraries.Experience working with IoT / distributed devices, manufacturing, and the energy industry is a plus but not required.
