Harbinger Motors Inc. is a Los Angeles-based electric vehicle manufacturer on a mission to transform the automotive and transportation industries, bringing to market EVs developed from the ground up to address the needs of the Medium Duty vehicle industry. As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will have various opportunities to shape Harbinger's purchasing strategies. The primary responsibility for this position will be to identify and onboard high quality suppliers, manage the RFI/RFQ/RFP process, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage various suppliers within Battery & HV/LV Systems.

Responsibilities

Manage a key set of suppliers within Battery & HV/LV Systems

In collaboration with Engineering and Supplier Quality, identify potential suppliers that meet Harbinger’s Approved Supplier Criteria

Design, develop, and execute a strategic vision for sourcing of assigned parts, working closely with engineering team

Oversee RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing process for the parts you are responsible for

Contribute to procurement strategies, policies, procedures, and systems

Thoroughly negotiate favorable contracts including parts pricing, tooling costs and engineering services (NRE/EDT)

Serve as initial point of commercial escalation for commercial issues and claims; efficiently solve problems and make decisions for strategic execution and tactical issues within the relevant portfolio of projects and/or processes

Work closely with and support other functional groups such as Engineering, Finance, and Strategy teams on scope development, product cost, manufacturing technology, delivery and quality

Provide in-depth analysis of total direct material spend to identify opportunities for improvements and strategic initiatives

Recommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvement, and present ideas to senior leadership

Preferred Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in technical, supply chain, or finance discipline; Masters or MBA is a plus

5-10 years experience in Purchasing / Supply Chain Management, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management (3-5 years dedicated automotive industry experience preferred)

Strong knowledge of pricing models and industry trends, industry regulations, and best practices

Demonstrated ability to identify process issues and drive improvements; good knowledge and experience with NetSuite/Oracle or other ERP systems

Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills

Highly organized and demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker

Ability to prioritize multiple projects, develop effective plans, coordinate change management, and see projects through to conclusion

Strong knowledge of appropriate commodities, relevant technologies, and main cost drivers
