You will design and implement on site control programs for various gravity energy storage system project requirements involving PLC’s, VFD motor drives, motion control, network communications, HMI’s, data collection, metric generation, and evaluation.  You are a key contributor to revolutionizing energy generation and storage worldwide.

Your Mission

  • Improve and innovate upon existing gravity energy storage systems design.
  • Design and write automation code utilizing Beckhoff automation systems.
  • Implement and troubleshoot your designs and code on site.
  • Collaborate successfully with other engineers (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Structural), construction professionals, and corporate teammates across Energy Vault.
  • Your Background/You have:

  • 3+ years of engineering experience and a Masters’ or Doctoral degree; or, 5+ years of experience and a Bachelor’s degree; or, 7+ years of experience and an Associates degree; or high school diploma and 9+ years of experience.
  • Extensive experience as a Beckhoff automation programmer.
  • Ample field experience on industrial construction sites and/or in manufacturing facilities.
  • Motion control experience.
  • High-speed automation experience.
  • Coding experience using a Proportional, Integral and the Derivative (PID) Controller.
  • PLC experience.
  • Willingness to travel – often to our Snyder, Texas energy storage system site – up to 50% to start for 2-3 weeks, potentially less frequently in time.
  • Experience in public companies is a plus.
  • Comfort in fast-paced, rapid-growth environments.
