The Role
At Zoox we aim to provide our customers with a premium ride experience while using our fully autonomous vehicles. You will work with a team of world-class engineers with diverse backgrounds in robotics, controls, and vehicle engineering while mastering vehicle NVH development. In this role, you will provide direction to key design, vehicle control, and attribute teams to ensure the right level of quietness for our customers. Working at a startup allows you to manifest your creativity and make a big difference in the final product.
Compensation
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $155,000 to $255,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.

In this role, you will:
Lead the development and achievement of vehicle-level NVH performance targetsDefine vehicle-level targets and cascade requirements to engineering design teamsConduct vehicle- and bench-level testing to assess and predict NVH performance on complete vehiclePerform experimental test methods such as transfer path analysis to quantify and rank noise contributionsDetermine the impact of proposed designs, problem root cause, and develop countermeasuresDevelop innovative technical concepts and solutions that enable the right level of quietnessQualifications
At least 8 years of automotive or related NVH development experienceBachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of studyExcellent understanding of acoustics and vibration principlesExperience in vehicle-level NVH development and integration, especially powertrain NVH Hands-on experience with vehicles, instrumentation, and data acquisitionExperience with acoustic and vibration test equipment and data analysis software (LMS, Test.Lab, HEAD Acoustics ArtemiS, etc.)Bonus Qualifications
Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred
