ICON is looking for a passionate, user-focused engineer with experience building enterprise level mobile applications. As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you will lead the team in designing and building our robotic construction controllers for operators in the field. You will have the unique opportunity to develop an industry-first controls system while collaborating with a diverse team of machine operators, designers, construction professionals, architects, scientists, and engineers. This role reports to the VP of BuildOS and is based in ICON’s Austin, TX lab.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with designers, operators, controls engineers, and the development team to build effective mobile interfaces for operating large, robotic systems.
  • Architect solutions with a focus on testability and functional isolation.
  • Ensure interactive and visual designs achieve the highest level of usability, desirability and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure UL compliance for operator controls.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ year professional experience deploying mobile applications for internal and external users.
  • Experience leading technical team members for isolated initiatives and long term projects.
  • An ability to learn and develop skills.
  • Ability to self-source knowledge from cross-functional partners.
  • An ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both verbally and in writing.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Android, iOS and/or Flutter development experience.
  • Experience deploying to iOS or Google App Store.
  • Passion for teaching and applying mobile best practices.
  • Experience with high fidelity mobile animations.
  • Modern CI/CD workflows. (Github, Jenkins, Travis, Circle CI, etc.)
