Role Description

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our battery cell product design team, a group responsible for developing the repeat electrode stack that is the building block of our commercial product. This team is responsible for delivering an electrode stack design that meets cost, performance, and manufacturing requirements for our product. This role will focus on designing, building, and testing a work-horse electrode stack and test stand, that service our internal testing needs and enable electrochemical performance improvements in our Somerville lab. You will work very closely with a talented group of mechanical, manufacturing, and battery engineers to optimize a design for manufacturing, assembly, and battery performance. The ideal candidate will exhibit an ability to creatively solve mechanical design challenges and subsequently impart rigorous design processes to ensure product success. This role provides an opportunity to lead the mechanical design of this cell stack while working with electrical, chemical, and battery engineering disciplines to ensure the design meets all of the battery requirements for our commercial product.
