Your Role and Your Team:

As Flight Simulation Engineer for OSD SIMD / QTG Development, you will coordinate the development of Simulation Data (SIMD) as part of the process to develop and certify Operational Suitability Data (OSD) and work with authorities to ensure their timely approval.

You will develop the flight tests required for OSD SIMD, QTG tests for FSTD qualification, and develop methods for validation simulation data to be processed and refined to feed the activities of the Modelling and Simulation team.

You will create test requests, plan and conduct flight tests on an engineering simulator, and closely align your work with other areas of flight testing, e.g. the handling qualities and performance campaigns.

Reporting to the Head of Modelling and Simulation, you will also cooperate with Commercial, Flight Ops, Systems Engineering, Safety, Flight Test, and other teams.

Your Day to Day

  • Ensure the development, execution and quality control of the flight test recordings dedicated for OSD SIMD (to become the MQTG source data)
  • Organize and participate in flight test campaigns for simulation data (OSD SIMD, QTG validation source data) in both the engineering simulator as well as the aircraft
  • Support the development of Special Conditions FSTD to prepare for FSTD qualification, together with our partners for FSTD development and operation.
  • Provide specialist knowledge and input to engineering activities regarding OSD SIMD, QTG and flight test

Your Profile

  • Engineering background (Bachelor or Master degree in aeronautical engineering, software engineering, or other engineering domains)
  • Knowledge and experience with the aspect of QTG in flight simulation, large data sets management and processing, and the underlying regulations and industry standards
  • Background on one or more Flight Mechanics disciplines: aerodynamics, aircraft performance, handling qualities, flight control laws
  • Experience in MATLAB/Simulink, C++
  • Knowledge of OSD requirement and/or experience in OSD generation
  • Experience in interfacing with Aviation Authorities is a plus
  • Fluent English language skills are essential
