Your role and your team:
In this role you will report directly to the Engineering Manager (Thermal Management Systems); and you will be deployed within the Energy IPT as a member of the Environmental Control System (ECS) Design Team.
As a key member of the team, you will take responsibility for various tasks related to the design, development, optimization, integration and certification of the ECS. In simple terms, you will play a key role in bringing our innovative aircraft to life.
The ECS comprises the following sub-systems:
- Core Thermal Management System
- Cabin & Cockpit Conditioning
- Liquid Conditioning System
- Thermal Conditioning Network
- Avionics Bay Conditioning
- Air Distribution & Ventilation
- ECS Control & Monitoring
- Cockpit Window Defogging
Your Day to Day:
- Requirements definition, capture and management
- Solution development and performance analysis at an ECS Sub-System level
- System/sub-system interface definition and management
- Sub-system integration
- System/sub-system verification and validation
- System/sub-system functional/performance analysis and design optimisation
- Support to system/sub-system safety analysis
- Supplier technical liaison and support to supplier management activities
- Conduct trade studies to support and inform key design element decisions
- Assist in the development of relevant processes and procedures
- Work collaboratively to identify and share best practice
Your Profile:
- University degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical/Vehicle Engineering (aerospace specialization, MSc/M.Eng preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the aerospace industry (preferred) or automotive industry is required.
- Excellent understanding of general design principles and technical correlations is required.
- Experience of Air Vehicle Systems Design & Development and Systems Engineering Integration is required.
- Good working knowledge of Thermal Management, Thermal Management Systems (TMS) and/or, Environmental Control Systems is required.
- Experience of system/sub-system Qualification and Certification is required.
- Knowledge and experience of System Test & Evaluation principles, processes and procedures is required.
- Good understanding of SAE-ARP4754 or similar corporate implementation is required.
- Basic knowledge with PDM/PLM systems (Teamcenter or equivalent) is beneficial.
- High level of self-reliance with the ability to work in a team, as well as autonomously is required
- Target-oriented, driven work style with analytic problem-solving skills is required
- Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment is required
- Fluent English language skills are essential, fluent German or any other language is beneficial
