STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

ICON is looking for a Senior Application Test Technician to support the design, development, and implementation of Application Test infrastructure and operations. You will be responsible for helping enhance quality, improve safety, and assist in constantly improving ICON’s products to maximize operational readiness and reliability by helping to evaluate the structural and architectural design feasibility and the performance of a project before setting foot on site. In addition, the Senior Reliability Test Technician will be a leader in testing products, recording data from those tests, and communicating that data to the product and engineering teams. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX location and will report to Sr. Testing Manager. Travel to ICON’s job sites may be required to support troubleshooting.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the development and implementation of ICON’s application test infrastructure, including test articles and the processes to improve testing methods and procedures.
  • Technical expert in the function and operation of our technology; coordinating of the following:
    • Execution of the approved test plan.
    • Day-to-day operations of equipment.
    • Schedule all required PM’s on equipment.
  • Work closely with architectural and engineering teams to develop test plans and documentation. 
  • Produce test reports, develop test documentation, and organize and deliver team metrics. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 8+ years experience in related engineering, product, or technician roles. Must have experience operating or assembling complex electro-mechanical, fluid, or structural systems.
  • Experience with the following mechanical systems: pumps, gears, air compressors, pressure vessels, pneumatics, and lifting equipment.
  • Experience with the following electrical & control systems: Programmable Logic Controllers, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, digital instrumentation, including 4-20mA output sensors and data acquisition hardware.
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge.
  • Flexible and able to multitask on several different aspects of a project or multiple projects.
  • Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Excellent communicator; able to understand instructions and communicate effectively.

 

Desired

  • Technical degree, professional certification, or 8+ years experience in a related field.
  • Experience in the construction or mechanical industry.
  • Experience in reliability testing, including MTTR, MTBF, and availability.
  • Prior experience in nuclear, aerospace, military/defense, construction, or other systems is a plus.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Desired: Technical degree, professional certification, or 8+ years experience in a related field.
  • Residential construction experience.

 

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be prepared to work, in part, in extreme environments: temps > 100 degrees or below freezing, sun, rain, mud, lack of electricity, etc. We get dirty!
