Technology to achieve 'net zero'.
- Technical and people leadership of sample analysis activities carried out at the Innovation Centre,
- Supervise and provide support to Analytical Scientist team,
- Responsibility for the reporting and dissemination of sample analysis results to internal and external stakeholders as necessary,
- To perform as proactive liaison with the R&D and Innovation Centre faculty team to ensure planned work can proceed to schedule,
- To coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure successful project deliveries,
- To develop enhanced analytical methods used for sample characterization,
- Contribute to the progression of CCSL’s IP portfolio,
- To develop and present various standard and ad-hoc reports for a variety of audiences,
- Ensuring the smooth operation of analytical suite.
- This role will be based on site 5 days a week in the office
Requirements
- Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Materials Science (or related), PhD preferable.
- 5+ years of analytical laboratory research experience necessary.
- Strong demonstration of teamworking and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and people effectively.
- An expert understanding of chemical analysis methods and techniques, including but not limited to: GC-FID, GC-TCD, GC-MS, LC-MS, TIC/TOC, acid/base titration, KF titration, ICP-OES, FTIR.
- Expertise in chromatography is essential.
- Experience in mass spectrometry is desirable.
- Candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to analyze and resolve complex sample matrices,
- Display the ability to critically assess data and literature to provide insight to the R&D and technical teams when required.
- An expert communicator with the ability to report technical information to technical and non-technical audience.
- Expertise with data processing, analysis and dissemination in the form of reports and presentations.
- Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously to a high standard with minimal supervision.
- Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of post-combustion CO2 capture technologies.
