Carbon Clean is the point-source carbon capture expert, driving the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries for more than 15 years. The company is eliminating the barriers of cost and space through its breakthrough modular CycloneCC technology, which cuts the total installed cost and overall physical footprint by up to 50% compared with conventional solutions. 

As General Manager for India, you will provide visionary leadership and oversee the implementation of business strategy, operations, and growth within the region. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will drive the development and execution of high-impact initiatives to deepen customer engagement, accelerate revenue growth, and secure Carbon Clean’s market position. The role currently covers our India operation, with anticipated expansion to broader APAC responsibilities. 

You will oversee and lead the overall India operations and drive business growth, ensuring the safety of our people, setting strategic goals, and delivering operational efficiency while maintaining strong integration with the UK HQ. 

You will have responsibility for effective execution of the budget in terms of cost management and performance for our India site, contributing to the overall profitability of Carbon Clean. 

We’ll trust you to 

Strategic Leadership & Growth 

  • Develop and execute a long-term strategic roadmap for the India market, ensuring alignment with Carbon Clean’s global objectives and commercial goals 
  • Collaborate with the commercial organisation to identify opportunities for revenue growth and strategic partnerships in India and the APAC region in the future 
  • Lead strategic initiatives to capture new business, establish key partnerships, and expand the company's market presence 

Operational Excellence 

  • Have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the India business 
  • Ensure the day-to-day operations in India run smoothly by driving operational efficiency, maintaining full compliance, upholding the highest safety standards, and making key decisions to support business continuity and growth. 
  • Develop, implement, and monitor site processes and policies, driving optimal team performance and safety across all functions 
  • Manage site communications, keeping teams informed and aligned around goals, performance, and key indicators 
  • Work closely with Finance and People teams to plan and manage the annual site budget, forecasting, and resource allocation 
  • Hold full accountability for the country P&L, responsible for delivering on financial and operational targets 

Team Leadership and Culture 

  • Provide dynamic leadership and mentorship to direct and matrixed teams, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment 
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional development within the team 

Compliance and Governance 

  • Be the head of the legal entity in the region, ensuring adherence to local laws, safety regulations, and relevant industry standards 
  • Communicate and lead the safety objectives for the Innovation Centre 
  • Ensure that site processes and policies are in place, and are followed to drive a strong, safe performance, across all site functions 
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners, representing Carbon Clean in public forums, negotiations, and industry events 

Data Driven Decision Making 

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team by leveraging data and market intelligence 
  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and inform decision-making 

Requirements

You’ll be successful in this role if you have a combination of below knowledge, skills and experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering , Supply Chain, Operations, or a related discipline. 
  • Proven track record in scaling and leading successful operations, ideally within engineering or manufacturing industries. 
  • Track record of operating sites under factories act.  
  • Experience managing both direct and matrixed teams, with demonstrated capability to optimise resource allocation for scalability. 
  • Strong background in global operations and financial accountability, including experience with country -level P&L. 
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, operational excellence, and lean  methodologies. 
  • Demonstrated experience in change management and leading organisations through periods of growth and transformation. 
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem -solving skills, and the ability to translate vision into action. 
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to mentor, inspire and develop diverse teams. 
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills, comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Ability to work effectively within a matrixed, fast -paced, and dynamic environment. 
  • Impeccable compliance and governance acumen. 
  • Fluent in English (additional regional languages a plus)
