The Senior Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist will play a critical role within the Accounts Payable team which is responsible for processing the day-to-day purchase activities of the business. This role will support the Sr. AP Supervisor under the direction of the Sr. AP Manager. The Sr AP Specialist will work cross functionally with other departments to provide administrative and accounting support through their expertise in vendor management and application of GAAP concepts.
Essential functions
- Responsible for successfully executing full cycle accounts payable in a high-volume environment with 80+ invoices per day with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Manage vendor record setup, code bills and purchase orders (POs) using 2-way and 3-way match, multi-dimensional coding, and secure appropriate supporting documentation as per accounting policy.
- Audit employee expense reports in accordance with general ledger (GL) coding guidelines, approval matrices, and company policies.
- Administer AP policies and processes. Train, educate, and assist the organization with credit card use and expense submission process within internal systems
- Reconcile credit card statements and obtain supporting documentation
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting
- Managing specific deal exceptions while following internal processes
- Prepare and input journal entries to record AP transactional activity in the general ledger
- Support accounting activities as needed and other ad hoc requests
- Collaborate with departments throughout the company to resolve inquires in a timely manner
- Strong customer service and communications skills working with internal and external parties.

Required education and experience
- An Associate's degree in business/accounting/finance or related field is required
- 7+ years of previous work experience in AP role
- Experience with NetSuite required
- Strong communication both written and verbal to both internal and external customers
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Outstanding communication, organization and multi-tasking skills; Respond timely to inquiries and drive issues to resolution
Travel required: Less than 5%
