The Research Associate - Industrial Fermentation will work on the Research & Development team to execute and analyze data on fermentation experiments designed to address business needs. The candidate in this position will be involved in authoring and editing technical documents and standard operating procedures.
This position is located at 2250 W Campbell Park Dr, Chicago, IL.
Primary Responsibilities:
Execute a variety of experiments using lab fermenters and shake flasks, under the supervision of the team scientistsConduct routine biological measurements using specific equipmentCollect samples from experiments using an aseptic technique and prepare for analysisInput data from various sources including online data loggers and record results using an electronic laboratory notebookAssist in laboratory work required to conduct planned experiments including, setup and take down of bioreactors, preparation of media, autoclaving of wasteAssist in the maintenance of consumables and equipment parts and suppliesProvide support with other scientists as time and testing requiresWork independently and train additional personnel as neededUtilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to overcome experimental issuesProfessional Experience & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in the scientific fieldMinimum of 1+ years in related fieldPrevious experience in aseptic techniqueAbility to follow standard operating proceduresMust be able to lift 30 lbsBenefits:
