Position:  Regional Commercial Agronomy Lead

Location:  Remote near York, Nebraska

We are seeking a Regional Commercial Agronomy Lead to support and lead a team of Commercial Agronomist who work alongside our commercial operations team to build lasting relationships with growers who are utilizing Pivot Bio Products. Pivot Bio products aim to deliver a more consistent and reliable source of nitrogen to crops and our Commercial Agronomy team strives to be industry leading nitrogen advisors! The target geographical area of this role focuses on the corn growing regions of the Western United States, such as the states of South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, and other nearby regions. The ideal candidate will reside within this region.

Responsibilities:

  •  Provide regional leadership and management to Commercial Agronomists in geographical area.
  • Lead technical product knowledge transfer and product demonstration trialing efforts for the assigned team of Commercial Agronomists.
  • Support and facilitate commercial activities including product placement suggestions, marketing support, and sales staff training.
  • Develop relationships with Pivot Bio growers and sales representatives to help ensure their success while utilizing our Pivot Bio products on their operations.
  • Support agronomic troubleshooting for any problems customers may face with our product.
  • Collaborate with sales teams by assisting in sales representative trainings and customer facing events to provide technical product knowledge and agronomy support.
  • Work in partnership with the Product Innovation team to characterize and demonstrate the advantages of new commercial and pre-commercial products.
  • Develop and provide regional agronomy research summary materials that can be used to support product management, positioning, field sales, and training.
  • Collaborate with Product Innovation regarding product testing and validation efforts with university organizations and other third-party partnerships.
  • Regularly integrate emerging technology tools for evaluation of products as well as grower demonstrations and support.
  • Travel within assigned geography up to 60% of the time.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field plus at least eight years’ field research experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team of individual contributors.
  • Strong background in agronomy or related field with a solid understanding of agricultural crops and products within the assigned geography. 
  • Strong fertilizer and fertility knowledge from products, applications, practices, and crop needs.
  • Fluent in understanding and ability to educate on nitrogen and nitrogen management.
  • Ability to engage/present in customer field days, meetings, as well as certain company events.
  • Strong background in field sales training with experience in technical knowledge transfer to both professional agronomists and customers or sales representatives.
  • Ability to plan, troubleshoot and evaluate product performance in customers’ fields utilizing precision software and other technology tools, such as remote sensing and aerial imagery.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions, i.e., heat, humidity, rain, cold, etc. for extended periods of time. 
  • Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces. 
  • Must be able to drive or ride in a vehicle for long periods of time. 
  • Seasonally the workday may be expanded to allow for tasks to be completed. 
  • Must be able to repetitively lift to 55 lbs.
