Halter

Halter is an agritech company that develops virtual fencing and pasture management technology for dairy and beef farmers. Its core product consists of GPS-enabled smart collars worn by cattle, paired with a mobile app that allows farmers to remotely move, manage, and monitor their herds without physical fences, reels, or standards. The platform provides real-time data on pasture growth, animal health, heat detection, and 24/7 location tracking, enabling farmers to make more informed decisions about grazing and herd management. Halter recently launched the world's first satellite-connected virtual fencing system, removing the need for ground-based towers and enabling coverage across any terrain in the United States, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Halter's mission is closely tied to sustainable land and livestock management. By enabling precision grazing, the technology helps farmers avoid overgrazing, improve pasture utilization, and reduce the environmental footprint of their operations. More efficient pasture management supports soil health, carbon sequestration, and reduced input costs, making farming more environmentally and economically resilient. The company has been recognized for helping operations fix longstanding overgrazing problems and improve overall farm productivity. Founded in New Zealand, Halter operates across multiple regions including New Zealand, Australia, the United States, and Canada, with ambitions for further global expansion. The company stands out for combining hardware innovation, satellite connectivity, and data-driven software into a single integrated platform, offering farmers a level of remote control and insight previously unavailable in the livestock industry.
