Quality Systems Engineer

Our Quality Systems Engineers will be instrumental in deploying processes that allow Archer to build safe, compliant products that are right the first time, on-time, every time. This role will support establishment of a new Quality System, and establish and lead industry best practice programs such as Zero Defects, APQP, and Variation Management.

• Take a key leadership role in the development and deployment of policies, procedures, and standards for a quality system that meets AS9100 and FAA requirements. This includes partnering with IT business partners and other functional stakeholders in the development of compliant processes and work instructions for the IT tools that will be implemented (i.e. ERP/MES).
• Lead the establishment of an internal audit program and coordinate/host 3rd Party Registration activity for initial and on-going Quality System Certification.
• Oversee the Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) program to include establishment of policies, instructions, and problem solving training utilizing proven methodologies such as 8D.
• Maintain a management review program to include compilation, analysis, and summary of data for top management.
• Assist in the development of training content to support new business processes. Provide training and oversee training effectiveness.
• Establish process and performance indicators (metrics/KPIs) to monitor health of the Quality System. Providing recurring reports, root cause analysis/trends and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Conduct desktop reviews and surveillance activity to ensure the Quality Management System and regulatory compliance requirements are effectively implemented and maintained.
• Lead quality investigations as required.
• Assist in the planning and process for company inspection in support of FAA conformity inspection and certification process. Establish processes and procedures as necessary to assure airworthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in the tool development, training, and facilitation of Continuous Improvement, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP/PPAP/AS9145), Six Sigma and Lean concepts to drive predictable performance and improvements.

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering/Science. Advanced degree preferred.
• Experienced in AS9100 / FAA/ NADCAP compliant Quality systems to include: authoring and deploying policies and procedures and auditing.
• At least five years of progressive experience in Quality/Operations.
• Ability for extensive travel at times (50%)
• Lead Auditor certification, IRCA accredited training with examination, or equivalent auditing qualification
• Working knowledge/ proficiency in Quality tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, MSE etc.
• Working knowledge of AS9102 and FAA conformity process.
•  Knowledge of Quality Standards such as AS9100, AS9103, AS9145, and AS6500.
• Quality Assurance Processes and New Product Development approval process APQP/PPAP.
• Effective at performing data analysis using software such as Excel, MiniTab, etc.
• Project management skills demonstrated; solid analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication & presentation skills both written & oral; ability to manage multiple projects.
• Self-starter, able to self-motivate and complete tasks with limited supervision; autonomous.

Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
