About Octopus Electroverse

We’re making electric vehicle ownership as smart and as simple as possible, by building the giant, virtual charging platform of the future.

In just over two years, Octopus Electroverse has grown to become one of the largest eMobility players in Europe, with over 520,000 connected electric vehicle chargers and a customer ecosystem spanning web, iOS, Android, CarPlay, Android Auto & Automotive OS, and more.

But it’s just the start: we’re busy launching in new countries, working with more automotive and tech partners, building exciting new features at scale, and creating the integrated charging experiences of the future - all in the name of making public EV charging super simple for customers.

Electroverse is a multifunctional team made up of product, development, commercial, operations, marketing, partnerships and more - all focused together on making Octopus the go-to name in EV charging. And we’re looking for smart individuals with an interest in the space who can help us make it happen.

We would prefer someone who can work in our London office but will consider remote candidates. However, you do need to be able to work in the UK.

What you'll do

Be the focal point for testing activities across the Electroverse ecosystem, examining our processes and ensuring quality is embedded throughout

Champion system testability, collaborating with the development teams to mentor and educate them in good testing practices to improve quality

Drive the creation of a reliable automated testing suite with strong reporting capabilities that ensures simple, effective analysis of failures for teams to use

Work as part of an autonomous product team, making EV ownership awesome. Engineers have a real say over what we build and how we approach it.

Implement clear quality principles for all development teams to follow, including our approach to cross-functional requirements such as security & performance

Be hands-on - help enhance and maintain our automation testing coverage

What you'll need

A pragmatic approach to balancing quality and delivery in a fast-paced environment

Hands-on experience with automated testing tools

Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases for stories & features

Familiarity with source control best practices and continuous integration

An ability to apply your ‘test’ mindset to exploring and understanding other teammates’ perspectives

An ability to collaborate with backend engineers, designers and product owners, and propose creative solutions

Bonus experience (but not required - as long as you’re excited at the opportunity to learn!) : Experience with mobile test automation
