We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Project Engineer to focus on FEED (Front-End Engineering Design). As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the early stages of project development by providing engineering expertise and contributing to the conceptualization, feasibility analysis, and initial design phases of complex engineering projects. Your creative problem-solving skills and technical knowledge will be essential in shaping the foundation of our projects, ensuring they meet quality, safety, and sustainability standards.

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to):

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, scope, and constraints
  • Conduct feasibility studies and initial risk assessments to determine project viability
  • Develop conceptual design options and evaluate their technical and economic feasibility
  • Lead or participate in the preparation of FEED packages for projects, including process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, equipment specifications, and preliminary P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams)
  • Work closely with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize project designs and identify potential issues
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations, and modeling to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, design documents, and technical specifications.
  • Review and update engineering drawings and documentation as needed
  • Collaborate with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) teams to ensure that design solutions prioritize safety and environmental sustainability
  • Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards and environmental risks associated with the project
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure alignment between the FEED phase and the overall project schedule and budget
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to define equipment and material specifications and requirements

 

What You Will Bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related field). A Master's degree is a plus
  • Proven experience in FEED engineering, design, or related roles within the engineering and construction industry
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MATLAB, or equivalent
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability in engineering projects

 

Bonus Points! 

  • Experience with execution of large infrastructure projects
  • Experience with industrial boilers and power systems
  • Experience with high voltage electrical systems

 

This role necessitates being on-site in Houston, TX.
