Position:   Production Supervisor (Packaging & Kitting)
Location:  Franklin Park, IL
 
Pivot Bio is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our growing team. The Production Supervisor will oversee packaging and kitting personnel and operational equipment to ensure uncompromising quality, cleanliness, and efficiency in the company’s packaging operations. This position will be accountable for meeting the production schedule while maintaining quality, driving continuous improvements, and managing costs.
 
 Responsibilities:
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies
  • Identify and communicate workplace safety hazards
  • Direct all activities associated with the completion of the production schedule to meet customer demand and ensure adequate safety stock
  • Organize and communicate daily operational schedule effectively to staff and management
  • Lead the visual quality inspection process; track quality data and provide necessary feedback
  • Responsible for ensuring that equipment, employees, and means of production are in place and performing to defined standards; escalates issues to the management team
  • Determine staffing requirements weekly and re-deploy resources to address any shifting staffing needs or changes in priorities and scheduling
  • Develop SOPs and train employees on safety, quality, production, and machine operations
  • Inspire the team through communication, celebrating wins, constructive feedback and addressing issues appropriately
  • Identify, implement, and track continuous improvement opportunities to increase productivity, reduce waste, and drive costs savings
  • Collect, evaluate, and analyze production data; enter production and quality data into various tools and systems as required
  • Collaborate with managers and supervisors to coordinate activities within the facility
 
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; Associates Degree and equivalent experience will be considered
  • Three years of operations supervisory experience required; temp labor workforce experience preferred
  • Proficient with WMS, ERP, and other warehouse and operations systems
  • Thorough understanding of production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Effectively communicates to both a manufacturing and office workforce
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
  • Promotes teamwork, possess a good attitude, exhibits flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as needed
 
This job is in a manufacturing environment and requires the ability to lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 pounds. The ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts may be required; training and certification will be provided if the candidate has no prior experience.

Salary Range: $70,068 - $87,585
 
All remote positions and those not located in our Berkeley, Hayward or Boston locations are paid based on National Benchmark data.  Following employment, growth beyond the hiring range is possible based on performance.
