ICON Print Leads are responsible for ensuring the successful execution of print projects through the supervision of a team of Print Technicians. In this role, you will be a subject matter expert whose responsibilities include overseeing printer operations, troubleshooting, mobilization and overall print site safety. This role is based at ICON’s Austin, TX lab but requires significant (50%) travel. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the successful execution of individual print projects. 
  • Supervise Print Techs at the print site.
  • Consistently enforce safe work practices.
  • Manage the daily and weekly scheduling of print technicians based on current assignments.
  • Assess and communicate project status updates to internal project stakeholders on a daily basis. 
  • Circulate weekly project updates which detail print progress, learnings, upcoming tasks, and concerns.
  • Ensure readiness of the team, material, and machine before field deployment.
  • Oversee pack-out of printer suite to jobsite and pack-up and return of printer suite to the lab.
  • Supervise daily SOP’s and other administrative responsibilities.
  • Review Print Plan to ensure architectural plans are being printed as designed. 
  • Review and understand structural plans and ensure reinforcement is placed accordingly.
  • Verify that all structural materials are correct and on-site.
  • Troubleshoot print issues by working closely with the Engineering team to solve problems with Hardware, Software, Controls, and Material Science.
  • Ensure print quality control, including bead quality, structural reinforcement, and misting/curing. 
  • Take a daily consumables inventory and verify that all tools and materials required for printing are ordered and on-site. 
  • Perform and document all pre- or post-print inventory and maintenance needs.
  • Provide and document operator feedback and input to facilitate continued printer improvement.
  • Assist with test prints in the Lab.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior management or supervisory experience leading field teams. 
  • Industrial safety system experience.
  • Leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Ability to problem-solve. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to fulfill duties in outdoor environments.
  • In-state and domestic travel up to 50% of the time.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of experience in construction or another industry with manual labor components. 
  • Familiarity with construction techniques and materials, and the ability to think ahead for the trades that follow printing.
  • Ability to communicate with architects, engineers, programmers, print operators, and trades.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and structural plans.
