Pozzolan Materials R&D Co-Op

Sublime is developing a breakthrough process to make low-carbon cement. The technology replaces the industry's legacy fossil-fuel-intensive thermal calciner process with an electrochemical process that produces low-carbon cement at ambient temperatures with renewable electricity. Sublime was started in 2020, as a spin-out of Yet-Ming Chiang's lab at MIT (Form Energy, A123, American Superconductor, 24M, Desktop Metals).

Sublime Systems seeks a creative and dynamic R&D Co-op or Intern to contribute to the development of our decarbonized cement. The co-op or intern will be responsible for conducting research including hands-on lab-scale testing, data analysis, and literature reviews related to the development and evaluation of supplementary cementitious materials (SCM). As a member of Sublime Systems’ small but growing team, the R&D co-op or intern will work closely with the company’s experienced researchers and will receive extensive mentorship. This is an exciting opportunity to combat global climate change by transforming how the world makes cement. The role will focus on the development and testing of Sublime Systems’ decarbonized cement. This role is expected to be hands-on, with a significant amount of time spent engaging in lab testing. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a laboratory, and is results-driven, detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
