About the company:
· Collaborate with and advise Project Managers and Engineering teams to fully capture scope, plan and sequence work to create logically linked schedules.
· Create resource and cost load schedules to support the generation of resource, progress and cost profiles.
· Identify and proactively monitor schedule risk within the project schedule and ensure that impact or avoidance is reflected in the schedule as drawdown of schedule contingency.
· Develop and maintain project progress trackers and Power BI reports to provide substantiated progress for schedule updates.
· Analyse, understand and challenge project teams on variance against Baseline schedules and previously reported forecasts.
· Lead the periodic reviews with Project Managers to assess project schedule performance within the wider context of the Customer Delivery department portfolio of projects.
· Ownership of Project Schedules, progress trackers and time related performance reporting.
· Support Principal Project Controls Manager with the updating of resource allocation on projects to enable capacity analysis of on-going projects and proposed projects.
· Participate in client progress reviews including the production of all schedule reporting requirements.
· Support Project Managers with internal and external progress reporting, Quality Assurance of Sub-contract schedules for scope, logic, durations.
· Utilise planning experience to aid with continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Requirements
You’ll be successful in this role if you have a combination of below knowledge, skills and experience:
· The ideal candidate will possess 5 - 8 years experience in an engineering project environment, preference for process industries knowledge (Chemicals, Oil and Gas or similar), with at least 4 years of project execution and delivery.
· Exposure, either working for or as an interfacing supplier or client to, EPC contracting environments.
· Highly experienced with scheduling systems (P6, MSP)
· Experience with schedule resource and cost loading.
· Experience with progress monitoring techniques and Earned Value concepts.
· Advanced Excel and Power Query skills are essential; knowledge of Power BI is good to have.
· Demonstrated high level of autonomy, diligence and a collaborative, positive nature is essential.
· A “can do” attitude, bringing solutions, not problems.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills – able to influence both with and without authority across remote / dispersed teams.
· Negotiation and understanding – able to assist teams with competing priorities and workloads to continue progressing multiple projects.
· Comfortable with the tension between expectations to operate independently yet proactively engaging with others for support when needed – support a no surprises culture
· Demonstrable experience driving project delivery excellence in ambiguous and changing circumstances
· Commercial awareness with a focus on delivering to budget and schedule
· Structured, detailed and organised approach with an open mind to innovation
· Entrepreneurial spirit in maximising profit and finding opportunities.
