About the role
The Partner Account Executive will own a business development portfolio of WeaveGrid platform partners with a particular focus on electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers and charging hardware providers. You will strive to be a trusted ally and advisor to our industry partners, serving as an expert in the needs and pain points for growing an EV market while improving the charging experience for drivers. Your knowledge of partner engagement strategies will drive a consultative enterprise business development process, which you will help define and implement. You will develop new connections, scope projects and commercial agreements, negotiate terms, and drive through to the close of a contract. You should be excited to explore creative paths for the electric mobility space, as you will navigate uncharted waters at the intersection of this industry with the electric utility sector.
Core Responsibilities
- Own commercial engagement with a set of key partner accounts, from stakeholder mapping to pitches and scoping through negotiation and execution
- Establish new partner relationships across a wide and changing ecosystem of stakeholders and strengthen existing relationships by being a trusted ally
- Become an expert on owned accounts with an understanding of their corporate strategies, near- and long-term priorities, organizational design, and operational processes
- Serve as the ambassador for WeaveGrid across current and prospective offerings as well as provide a two-way feedback conduit to inform roadmap design
- Own accountability for partner-facing deliverables and collaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders to iterate on external-facing resources
- Support project management by implementation teams and continue to support account health beyond initial contract
- Grow WeaveGrid’s brand presence among relevant partners and ancillary stakeholders by participating in thought leadership opportunities
- Bring fresh ideas and creative insights to the Partnerships team and the company at large
About you
First and foremost, you’re mission driven and fully dedicated to driving solutions for our climate crisis. You have experience with key players at auto OEMs, charging hardware/service providers, electric utilities, or in other sectors intersecting in today’s EV revolution. You want to grow and leverage WeaveGrid’s positive reputation in our industry by building connections and creating a long track record of success. You’ve enjoyed working in a fast-paced environment at a high-growth company, while demonstrating a high degree of empathy for clients, partners, and team members across departments.
To meet the needs of this role, you will bring
- Track record in strategic business development (e.g., enterprise sales, channel partnerships, ecosystem partnerships, etc.) with an appreciation for long sales cycles
- Empathy, individual initiative, a spirit of inquiry, and solutions-orientation
- Experience with at least one and preferably several of the following areas: automotive sector, utilities sector, enterprise SaaS business development, enterprise sales or partnerships, business development leadership, management consulting, energy policy analysis, and/or tech business operations
- Attention to detail and ability to function effectively under time pressure
- Ability to work with diverse teams and translate between various areas of expertise
- Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks in response to immediate needs
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent work ethic
- Comfort with remote collaboration tools
- Ability to sporadically travel 2-4 days at a time
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of full-time experience in business development, partnerships, or another analytical and client-facing capacity
- BA/BS, or equivalent experience, required; Masters, or equivalent experience, preferred
