Role Summary:

NPI Change Management is a cross functional role that ties together product development and operations organizations to effectively coordinate Engineering change requests in the manufacturing environment. In this role within Production Control, you will collaborate with the design engineering, supply chain, operations, and manufacturing engineering team to ensure change is managed in a controlled environment during first build prototype vehicles and then continuing through to series production ensuring that all Operations functions are ready to execute change.

Responsibilities:

  • Interact, integrate, and drive results across cross-functional teams whilst acting as the voice of the manufacturing plant always ensuring that change is managed as such that manufacturing can consume it.
  • Participate in Engineering Change Request Meetings and Part Concession Reviews to understand the scope of change and determine the impact to production control based on the assessment of the change.  
  • Lead various cross-functional Program and Manufacturing Build Change Management Readiness forums to obtain all the data required to execute the change. Provide clear updates on status and recovery plans as necessary at both working and executive level
  • Lead the change readiness workstream, working closely with the Change Analyst team to ensure that all downstream parties are aware and prepared for the change.
  • Author change status, summary, and issue resolution tracking reports
  • Throughout the NPI process you will look for opportunities to improve the approach to change management and resulting execution accuracy

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Supply Chain or Program Management or equivalent experience required
  • 5+ Years Experience in an Automotive NPI environment
  • Experience with Engineering Design Changes, Manufacturing process and Supply Chain in a relevant field  
  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning “MRP” software such as SAP
  • Intermediate or above knowledge in Excel, Word, Power point, and Outlook programs
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and responsibilities
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong team orientation and cross functional attitude
  • Knowledge of systems interface between Enterprise Resource Planning “ERP” and Manufacturing Execution Systems “MES” preferred
  • Ability to create and present summary reports
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
