The Manufacturing Technician  will work within the production team for the purpose of achieving a key result or group of aligned results. Candidates should possess a general knowledge of mission critical directives and situations surrounding process equipment in all areas inside the walls of the facility. They must help to develop strategies to meet team and company goals. Reports to the various supervisors and managers throughout the production organization. The Technician must possess a working knowledge of standard automotive OEM process equipment, and related systems, be a problem solver, and be communicative and proactive in the execution of daily activities. Contribute to day-to-day operations and create reports to update the company in the event it is required. Must be able to perform under pressure, remain dynamic and understand urgency. The Technician must be able to practice teamwork and team building within our organization.

You Will:

  • Operation of various process equipment (Fanuc Robots (Topcoat/Sealer), Paint Mix Systems, PT/ED) in Paint.
  • Knowledge of the operation & troubleshooting abilities, of robots, VFD’s, PLC’s, along with various other types of manufacturing equipment.
  • Operating, running and monitoring the input and output of equipment critical to the manufacturing cell or process.
  • Knowledge of the equipment and manufacturing process in detail, troubleshooting at an appropriate level and involving senior members of staff if/when they are not able to correct the problem.
  • Monitor and check the product quality as they will be responsible for identifying when the process is deviating from the norm and taking action to correct it. Manufacturing Technicians are the “eyes and ears” on the front line of the process.
  • Maintain accurate and clear documentation that proves that manufacturing is being carried out in accordance with both internal and external quality systems or regulations. It is important that procedures are followed, but it is also important that it can be shown and proved that procedures were followed.
  • Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspection, cleaning, servicing along with routine and preventative maintenance to ensure maximum equipment uptime.
  • Maintain production logs for all machines and processes they oversee, which requires proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Provide regular productivity reports, and incident reports if an accident occurs.
  • Follow internal protocols and Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Offer continuous improvement “impacts” to optimize the manufacturing process and equipment functionality.
  • Responsible for gathering data from their portion of the manufacturing process and reporting it to senior staff members (Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Engineer).
  • You Bring:

  • Experience with working with manufacturing equipment (Durr, Fanuc, TTX)
  • Skilled at troubleshooting electrical and or complex electronic-mechanical systems.
  • Skilled with FANUC Automation (Application, Programming)
  • Knowledge of paint layering systems
  • Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)..
  • Reliable and excellent attendance record and positive performance reviews
  • 2+ years of experience in working with process equipment (FANUC / DURR/TTX) preferred
  • PLC, BMS or other logic platform experiences (Rockwell / Siemens / Etc.)
  • Fanuc Paint Automation (Operation, Testing, troubleshooting)
  • Durr Paint delivery systems (Operation, Testing, troubleshooting)
  • Pretreatment and Electrocoat systems and testing.
  • Robot programming, installations, troubleshooting and commissioning experience (Fanuc Preferred)
  • Basic Electricity/Electronics Knowledge.
  • Understand the NEC codes for electrical equipment and grounding.
  • Ability to wear fall hazard harness and enter confined spaces with required training.
  • Have working knowledge of and can troubleshoot Ethernet networks.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints for troubleshooting.
