To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". Our Heat Batteries charge from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency - and at a cost point that is lower than any other method. 

We have an immediate opening for a Manufacturing Technician to support production of the core components of the Rondo Heat Battery.  The position will be located in Alameda.

What You Will Do (key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to): 

• Work closely with engineers to operate, troubleshoot, and improve processes by providing feedback about bugs and functional features that would improve yield, performance, and ease of operation 
• Learn new tools and tasks on a regular basis; tracking your learning progress and communicate what you’ve learned to help improve the process 
• Follow processes carefully as directed to perform a variety of manufacturing tasks that may change over time. Examples include, but are not limited to: using machinery to mix cement-like materials to specific formulas, building custom molds and casting unique parts, using tools and software to take and record measurements, handling a variety of parts through multiple process stations (everything from large and heavy parts to small and delicate parts), and packaging finished components 
• Follow all safety protocols, including always wearing appropriate PPE
• Prioritize safety for the team, the equipment, and facilities 
• Learn the operation of a first-of-its-kind manufacturing line 
• Maintain an organized and safe facility 
• Help create SOPs and follow existing SOPs 
• Safely operate common machine shop tools 
• Travel to project sites as needed  

What You Will Bring: 

• Great attention to detail and curiosity about the way machines work  
• Strong written and verbal communication skills  
• Experience with industrial automation, robotics, facilities, CNC machines, lasers, and/or electronics  
• Experience working safely with common machine shop tools, power tools and heavy equipment  
• Certification and experience operating heavy equipment, such as forklifts, is a plus 
• Welding experience a plus 
• The ability to lift to 50 lbs 
• The desire to work in a team environment

This non-exempt, full-time position is required to be on-site in Alameda. The hourly pay range for this role will be $25-$35/hr depending on experience, and will be eligible for Rondo’s great benefits (above). Daily hours for this role are typically 8am – 4pm, with some opportunities for overtime hours.
