Joining the Advanced Hardware Manufacturing Operations team, you will play a critical role in building the Zoox Robo Taxi. As a member of the team launching the hardware subassembly Manufacturing lines, you will be part of a passionate and resilient team focused on bringing the future of transportation to life.
Your responsibilities include overseeing the daily operations of these product lines, ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining quality standards, and training production associates. You will also troubleshoot manufacturing issues, support RCA activities, manage inventory in SAP MES, and ensure production targets are achieved. We seek an energetic and collaborative Production Lead who proactively owns the manufacturing process. In this role, you will:
Train production associates on work instructions, tooling, and best practices for their assigned workstations. Understand technician strengths and weaknesses and develop training plans accordinglyFully document quality defects found on the line using SAP ME and Jira.Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on production processes, issue resolution, RCA, and recommend process improvement feedback to manufacturing engineering. Serve as the first point of escalation for the production technician team.Generate reports for the area of responsibility, including downtime, throughput, and non-conformance at stations. Monitor performance trends for production KPIs and develop action plans as needed.Understand the operation of the automated manufacturing line, work with the controls engineer to troubleshoot and clear line faults. Utilize SAP ME to log non-conformances.Leverage the strengths and weaknesses of each technician to ensure the production line is balanced to meet daily production goals. Fill in on the line when staff is absent.Provide SAP ME support, including work order release to the line, investigating inventory discrepancies, and non-conformance reporting and resolution in SAP ME.Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of Automated Manufacturing experience.Experience using a Manufacturing Execution System (SAPMES, Smart Factory, Oracle) High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree or higher preferred Proven ability to train, mentor, and lead team members.Proficiency in Google SuiteStrong written and verbal communication skills.Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle pressure and manage competing demands effectivelyBonus Qualifications
4-6 years of manufacturing experience with electro-mechanical assemblyExperience in Lidar or Camera assembly and testing
