What you’ll do:
- Learn about electrical components, interiors, systems integration and/or structural installations to collaborate on continuous improvement projects with the Product Design Engineering, Quality Engineering, Material & Process Engineering, and Manufacturing Operations teams in the development of a new eVTOL aircraft.
- Utilizes various forms of engineering and technical information such as model based engineering definition, wiring & schematic diagrams, engineering dispositions, and ground support / test equipment to support the build of our Midnight Test Vehicles.
- Develop work instructions for electrical, metallic and composite assemblies.
- Support implementation of process control plans to ensure process capability with Quality Engineering.
- Support Functional Testing to verify integrated aircraft functionality for the electrical propulsion, flight controls, avionics, environmental control, cabin management, low voltage, and battery management systems
- Develop specifications for tooling alongside our Manufacturing Tooling Team to support Midnight Test Vehicle production.
- Drive design for manufacturability efforts with our Product Design team.
What you need:
- Preferred bachelor’s degree (attending or obtained) in related fields of Aerospace, Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering.
- Willingness to look for alternative solutions and come up with improvements for the installations.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills with an emphasis on Google suite.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and highly regulated environment with adaptability to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Great communication skills and a high attention to detail are required.
Education
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience using shop tools
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Experience writing work instructions for a manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a product development environment
- Experience with high voltage wiring, batteries, and electric motor controllers
