What You’ll Do
As a Lead Engineering Technician, you will play a key role in leading a team of technicians responsible for the assembly, integration, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems. You will ensure daily operations run smoothly, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and manage a team of engineering technicians, providing technical guidance and hands-on support.
- Oversee and coordinate aircraft assembly and integration tasks to meet production goals.
- Conduct daily production meetings to communicate priorities, shift handovers, and operational objectives.
- Assist in developing and refining low-volume production processes, supporting the transition to high-volume manufacturing.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and composite-related issues, collaborating with engineering and quality teams.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental health policies, fostering a culture of workplace safety and accountability.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to assemble and install aircraft components.
- Support and drive a culture of continuous improvement, identifying ways to enhance efficiency, processes, and technology.
What You Need
- Minimum 8 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, maintenance, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft manufacturing, including wire harness fabrication and installation, mechanical systems, composite fabrication, and aircraft assembly.
- Experience with aircraft safety protocols, tool control, foreign object debris (FOD) prevention, and industry standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and coordinate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capability to work hands-on to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and other relevant software tools.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs unassisted and meet visual acuity requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO, AS9100, and design control requirements.
Bonus Qualifications
- Knowledge of IPC 610/620 & AC43.13-B standards.
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Experience working with high-voltage wiring, batteries, and electric propulsion systems.
- Background in FAA conformity, aircraft configuration management, and regulatory compliance.
