Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building out and leading the Vehicle Dynamics Powertrain team across all vehicle programs
  • Coordinate communication between the dynamics team and other cross-functional teams such as; Attributes, Controls, Development, Chassis, Manufacturing, and Vehicle SW teams
  • Working cross functionally and internally within Dynamics to drive RC's for the sub-team to completion
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure targets are clear and roadblocks are removed as quickly as possible, by facilitating internal conversations and work packages to resolve issues
  • Work with Vehicle Dynamics Systems team to ensure that feature requirements are captured and cascaded
  • Contribute to the creation of DFMEAs and DVP&Rs for relevant chassis components/systems
  • Develop/champion new technology (hardware or software) to progress Vehicle Dynamics capability to achieve class-leading status
  • Review RFQ/RFI packages for each responsible system before releasing to suppliers
  • As part of the scrum framework, this role would be a Product Owner for their systems
  • Responsible for team development (growth) and provide feedback/appraisals to direct reports
  • Work with Manufacturing on ensuring system functionality thru process development of EOL routines
  • Work with SW Team on defining software roadmap for features/functions/fixes
  • Work with Diagnostic Team on strategy and implementation of ECU Common Specifications
  • Develop Service Trouble Tree for resolving issues

Qualifications

  • B.S or BEng or Higher – Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or equivalent engineering degree
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive controls development with a focus on Vehicle Dynamics
  • 3+ years of experience managing a team
  • Working knowledge of regulatory and vehicle certification requirements
  • Working knowledge of typical automotive development software such as Vector tools and Matlab/Simulink preferred
  • Understanding of the software V-process for a typical vehicle development cycle
  • Working Hours – typically 8-5pm with additional hours required to meet critical deadlines
  • Travel Requirements of Position – minimal, some travel to proving grounds for testing
