Position summary 

Without a beginning, there is no end. In our Sales Development department, sales cycles are born. We look forward to welcoming our new Manager Sales Development focusing on UK and France at ChargePoint. 

The Manager Sales Development will play a crucial role in leading a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs). Together, you will bring new business opportunities and revenue pipeline into the ChargePoint sales funnel. In this role, you will strategically develop sales opportunities within medium and large enterprises. The main focus of you, alongside your team, will be to innovatively engage with prospective business buyers, to identify and qualify the lead through an educated variety of inbound and outbound approaches.  

Approximately 50% of your time will be dedicated to guiding your team toward success, leveraging your expertise, talent, and coaching abilities, and focusing on the right activities and approach to generate new business opportunities. The other 50% will generate your own new business pipeline and lead by example. The position will require flexibility in working with the changing environment of a global sales force and be prepared to fulfill additional responsibilities as needed. There is no travel expected for this role.

What you'll be doing

  • Engaging with prospective buyers to initiate sales cycles and generate qualified opportunities within a prescribed geographic territory and/or customer sector 
  • Assisting the Sales team in advancing opportunities through the sales funnel and successfully closing sales cycles
  • Working closely with the Sales, Sales Enablement, and Marketing teams to contribute to the continual improvement and delivery of robust day-to-day processes and systems for lead generation, lead quality, MQLs, and campaigns
  • Hiring, training, coaching, and managing your SDR Team to identify, contact, and create qualified opportunities
  • Collaborating with Sales and other members of the Inside Sales Leadership team to enhance opportunity management and qualification processes
  • Monitoring SDR dashboards (e.g., opportunity creation, outbound and inbound activities and volume, conversion) to ensure the team is on pace to achieve goals and taking action when and where needed
  • Motivating, incentivizing, and recognizing team members to promote excellence! 

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in a New Business Executive, SDR, or similar role 
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities 
  • A previous background in software (as a service) and/or networked systems is desirable, but this could be an entry level position

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and deliver on commitments 
  • Experienced user of tools like Salesforce & Outreach (or similar) – from an operational perspective, yet also reporting / monitoring perspective, 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English – French and/ or German is a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent  
  • Attitude, behavior and EQ always beats IQ and any degree
