Zoox is building the quality team that will take our first-in-class autonomous robot from development to commercialization. The Field Quality manager is responsible for leading the field quality team to ensure that we have the right tools, the right procedures, and the right team to ensure that Zoox L3 & L5 vehicles meet our field quality and reliability expectations.
Vaccine Mandate
Employees working in this position will be required to have received a single dose of the J&J/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine OR have completed the two-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series. Responsibilities
Managing the daily activities of the field quality team – including goal setting, performance management and professional development of team membersManaging the processing of parts returned from the field through receipt transactions to root cause investigationLeading root cause investigations on failing systems and components through hands on inspection and measurement of failures with members of the field quality team and other cross-functional resourcesManaging the Material Review Board and RMA processes ensuring cross functional alignment on nonconforming material dispositionManaging quality issue tracking and driving root cause analysis and corrective actions owned by the field quality teamDefining, collecting, and reporting the key performance indicators to drive improvements in the field performance of Zoox L3 & L5 fleet vehiclesLeading continuous improvement efforts to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of field quality team processes by curating a field quality capability roadmap that defines the current and future personnel, equipment and process needsCollaborate with other members of the quality team to develop key quality specifications and proceduresQualifications
Experience managing a team of quality engineers and technicians in development through commercialization phases of the product and service lifecycleExperience debugging and analyzing complex and urgent hardware quality issues found in fleet vehicles and working cross-functionally to contain and ultimately correct those issuesDemonstrated proficiency performing quality root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actionsExperience with quality issue tracking and management systems (such as Jira)Demonstrated experience driving quality initiatives and successfully delivering desired quality outcomesBachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering or related technical fieldBonus Qualifications

There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $180,000 to $230,000. A sign-on bonus may be offered as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level. Leveling, as well as positioning within a level, is determined by a range of factors, including, but not limited to, a candidate's relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance. The salary range listed in this posting is representative of the range of levels Zoox is considering for this position.
