Role Description
This role will be responsible for managing shipments from our contract manufacturers to utility customers, developing new and scalable logistics methods, and ensuring accurate inventory tracking of components and finished goods. The Logistics & Inventory Manager will report to the Senior Supply Chain & Planning Manager and will work closely with Manufacturing, Finance/Accounts Payable, Field Operations, & Sales to support logistics, inventory reporting, production planning, and demand forecasting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all logistics processes, including shipments from contract manufacturers to utility customers, and internal shipment requests. 
  • Analyze logistics processes and recommend improvements to logistics workflows, shipping methods, and carrier strategies to support scale. 
  • Manage inventory tracking for components and finished devices across manufacturers, warehouses, and customer destinations. 
  • Partner with Accounts Payable and Finance to support monthly inventory reporting, reconciliations, and accounting processes. 
  • Support production planning activities, including aligning inventory availability with build schedules and customer demand. 
  • Support the implementation and operation of Gridware’s ERP system, and own inventory tracking and data accuracy within that system. 
  • Own and scale the return (RMA) and reverse logistics process, including handling field returns, coordinating with contract manufacturers, and improving existing workflows to support higher volumes and traceability. 
  • Create and maintain clear documentation and reporting to provide visibility into inventory levels and logistics performance. 
  • Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, inventory management, or project management. 
  • Experience managing physical goods, inventory, and shipments in a manufacturing or hardware environment. 
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs). 
  • Demonstrated ability to build and improve processes in a fast-moving or ambiguous environment. 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across manufacturing, finance, and operations teams. 
  • Strong proficiency with spreadsheets and ERP tools; comfort working with data and reports. 
  • Bonus Skills

  • Experience supporting inventory accounting, cycle counts, or audits. 
  • Exposure to production planning, demand forecasting, or S&OP processes. 
  • Experience handling reverse logistics processes and field returns. 
  • Experience in the energy, utilities, or hardware startup space. 
  • Experience building first-of-kind logistics or inventory systems at an early-stage company.
