About the Role
Gridware is looking to hire a Senior Hardware Reliability Engineer to oversee reliability testing, analysis and lifetime modeling of multiple outdoor electronic assemblies. This role will focus on the electronic components of the products and will work closely with our mechanical-focused Reliability Engineer, as well as the broader hardware team and crossfunctional teams.

Responsibilities
Develop and implement reliability test plans and protocols for PCBAs and electronic assembliesPartner with hardware, firmware and manufacturing engineers to establish and refine component and system level reliability targets for our electronics and battery systemsDrive Design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (DFMEA) for various systems to capture performance risks and implement appropriate mitigation activitiesPartner with Sales and Product to develop lifetime reliability and warranty targetsCreate holistic models of product lifetimes and common failure modes using field data, field failure analysis, and accelerated life testingMonitor field performance and identify statistical trends in failureRequired Skills
8+ years of experience in Hardware Reliability, with an emphasis on electronics reliability (PCBAs, batteries, harnesses, etc)Proficiency in statistical analysis software and reliability testing toolsScripting for test automation and data analysisWorking knowledge of statistical software for reliability, such as JMP or the ReliaSoft suite, or MATLABExperience managing external partners and test labsDirect experience with accelerated lifetime test design and analysisDeep understanding of physics of failure and common failure mechanisms for PCBAs and electronic components (MOSFETs, capacitors, inductors…etc)Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related fieldBonus Skills
Experience working with CMs/ODMs on medium to high-volume productsGood network of reliability test labs and test equipment vendorsKnowledge of failure analysis techniques such as SEM, CT, X-Ray, EDS, TDR
