What You Will Be Doing

ChargePoint is looking for an attorney to partner with the ChargePoint sales team in Europe with a focus on Italy, Spain and the rest of southern Europe in order to drive ChargePoint’s world leading electric vehicle charging business to rapid growth.  The successful candidate will be able to work independently while fitting seamlessly into the team.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

• Understand ChargePoint’s business operations to be able to suitably negotiate contracts
• Review, draft, negotiate, analyse and revise a wide variety of corporate and commercial documents including a variety of agreements with strategic partners, software as a service license agreements, purchase and sale agreements, public tenders, service contracts, statements of work, non-disclosure agreements and vendor agreements
• Develop creative solutions to meet customer and ChargePoint’s legal and business objectives in order to reach a mutual agreement
• Legal research as necessary
• Advise on risk mitigation and anticipated or actual disputes
• Advise various internal departments regarding the creating and maintenance of standard contract templates and implications on business operations
• Support the definition and standardisation of contract management processes and tools
• Respond to requests for legal input related to Requests for Proposal/Tenders
• Responsible for local law requirements
• Competent, ethical and diligent representation of ChargePoint
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Requirements

• Italian Law Degree or equivalent work experience, while additional relevant experience with the Spanish law system is considered a plus
• 5-8 years of experience as an attorney in drafting, analysing and negotiating contracts, with at least 2 years of relevant in-house experience.
• Experience working in a fast pace international company, ability to work independently with little supervision while also being a team player
• Ability to localise variety of legal agreements and identify requirements for further company expansion
• Expert knowledge of commercial terms, data privacy (GDPR), understanding of consumer laws and regulations
• Ability to conduct negotiations with commercial and strategic partners
• Strong familiarity with corporate and commercial law required
• Preferred familiarity with SaaS based agreements
• Exceptional verbal communication skills in Italian and English; additional languages, more specifically Spanish, are resume enhancers
• Exceptional writing and drafting skills
• Financial aptitude and ability to understand business impacts of contract language
• Ability to juggle multiple contracts and negotiations and work under tight deadlines
• Top tier legal and business judgment with the ability to quickly assess risk and prioritise
• High level organisational skills, resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability
• Ability to understand business needs and partner with internal clients and outside groups to find creative solutions to complex problems
• Strong written/oral communication skills, ability to communicate complex legal issues in non-legal language
• Enjoy collaborating with no ego in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Experience in a global business environment
