What you will do: As the Lab Operations and Facilities Manager, you will assist with maintaining Electra’s wet lab operations, assist with facilities operations and coordinate office operations for our Boston location. In this role you will:
- Responsible for lab operations, support and back up to Engineering Director in the oversight of all aspects of efficient lab operations
- Evaluates, develops and implements new technical procedures for laboratory to ensure accurate and efficient productivity
- Manages and acts as a resource for the laboratory on a wide range of technical and critical strategic issues
- Oversee all facilities operations and maintenance, space planning, and workplace safety and security
- Assist in supporting company environmental, health, and safety initiatives
- Manage facilities related requests for proposals, contracts, and master purchase orders
- Develop, manage, and maintain positive contractor and vendor relationships
- Maintain day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders
- Create reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences
- Collaborate with building owners and leadership for facilities needs
- Source workspace based on the needs of the company and negotiate lease agreements for the space expansion as needed
- Manage landlord and related communication
- Schedule routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
- Maintain records as required by regulation
- Oversee the parties responsible for mail and deliveries, upkeep of equipment and supplies, ordering of office materials, cleanliness of office and workspaces, etc.
- Assist with IT set up and enhancements as needed
- Answer and respond to general office inquiries
- Coordinate office events
What we need you to bring to the team:
- 5 years of related operations management experience
- Experience managing, relocating and/or expanding a wet lab
- The ability to communicate effectively
- Project management experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- A critical thinking mindset and focus on finding answers
- A safety-first mindset; share potential risks with others before they result in hazardous outcomes
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as needed
- The ability to adapt quickly to changing processes and responsibilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
