IT Director People Platforms role at Fluence will be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders on the People team to understand organizational strategy, identify technology solutions to meet their needs, and lead IT team to deliver the People technology roadmap. This hands-on role demands deep knowledge of HR technology, and strategy and requires a seasoned leader who can influence stakeholders and inspire a team. 

What does the IT Director of People Platforms do at Fluence?

  • Develop and champion a multi-year vision and roadmap for People Technology, taking a product management approach to designing a tech stack that optimizes the employee experience
  • Manage the portfolio of People systems and initiatives from initiation to launch; manage project intake and consult with cross-functional stakeholders to establish prioritization against the roadmap
  • Oversee the assessment, selection, and procurement of systems, as well as maintain and strengthen vendor relationships
  • Responsible for a team that will action day-to-day maintenance, management, and projects related to the Workday, Lever and other people platforms, including requirement-gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Lead and mentor team
  • Partner with subject matter experts across all subdisciplines (e.g., Benefits, Talent, Payroll, Learning, Finance) to simplify and optimize processes, reduce manual efforts, and enhance business capabilities.
  • Configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Workday integrations internally, as well as to third parties
  • Planning for needed resources and funding based on business needs and objectives. Balance vendor relationships and internal/external resourcing to support internal teams and goals.
  • Monitor the HR community for reported bugs, fixes, and new enhancements relative to implemented systems
  • Review tasks and seek opportunities to refine processes in conjunction with the People Technology roadmap and leadership.
  • Train new and existing HRIS users on system functionality and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the HR management team in implementing updates and new features.
  • Create training manuals, user guides, and documentation of HR business processes.
  • Identify and document system deficiencies and recommend solutions.

  • What does the ideal candidate look like?

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Should be able to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading system assessments and implementations, including project management, issue management, communications, and change management
  • Deep Expertise in Workday required; experience in lever, ADP preferred 
  • Deep knowledge of HR strategy, processes, and best practices
  • Experience managing vendors and strengthening external partnerships 
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally is a global, matrixed environment 
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
  • Experience leading a globally distributed team, including working with/managing contractors and technical resources
  • Experience operating in and building an auditable and compliant software ecosystem
  • Deep experience in creating People System roadmaps, to include thought leadership on system and process consolidation
  • Experience with both data privacy and SOX Compliance
