About the Role
You will assist the vector design and construction team with initiatives to improve transgene expression technology. You will build constructs to test different codon and transgene expression optimization strategies. The work involves application of modern recombinant DNA technology including Gateway cloning, sequence analysis and vector evaluation in transient assay systems like protoplasts.
As an intern, you will…
- Assist in the design of plant gene expression cassettes
- Support plasmid vector construction projects
- Perform quality checks to ensure the integrity of finished vectors
- Evaluate the performance of new vector components in transient assay systems
As an intern, you bring...
- Basic experience in molecular biology techniques including plasmid preparation, restriction analysis, DNA ligation, DNA sequence analysis and PCR
- Operational knowledge of vector analysis software like Geneiuos
- Good record keeping skills
- Experience with plant transient assay systems like protoplasts and/or hairy roots is a plus
