We are seeking an experienced Android Infotainment Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Android development, a deep understanding of automotive infotainment systems, and a passion for creating user-friendly, high-performance applications.
The hourly range for internships specific to the location is $28/hr-$68/hr and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account: degree level and job-specific domain. Role/Responsibilities:
Development and Integration: Design, implement, and deliver the in-vehicle software utilizing the underlying platform, frameworks, and SDKsOptimization: Optimize software for performance, memory usage, and responsiveness while ensuring the highest levels of stability and reliability.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including UI/UX designers, application engineers, hardware engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration of features.Testing: Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests to validate functionality and performance.Documentation: Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for developed features and systems.Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest Android development practices, tools, and emerging technologies.Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software issues in collaboration with QA teams.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Android applications and framework developmentExposure to coding languages like Java or C++Knowledge of automotive communication protocols like CAN, LIN, and EthernetExperience with version control systems like GitStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentExcellent communication skillsField(s)of study: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fieldsWill consider undergrads Junior level or above Pursuing Bachelor’s or master's degree Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD)

Timing: May-August, or June-September pending class schedules. Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Newark, CA, and is fully in-person. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable. Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization. Relocation: One round trip flight to the assigned work location from/to permanent residence.
