Harbinger is seeking a dynamic, self-starter who will take initiative to research and report on the various types of incentives and funding available for customers of Harbinger medium duty commercial electric vehicles and battery power packs. This inside commercial team position is customer facing and requires an organized, friendly person with strong written and verbal communication skills to guide the customers on what funding is available, how to apply for it and what is required for tracking of the funding requirements. In addition to working closely with customers, this position will work closely with the sales team and government affairs team to update them on various incentives and new funding opportunities. 

As a fast paced climate tech start-up, we are looking for team members who are flexible, can take on various responsibilities and respond in a timely manner to customers, with opportunities for growth and expansion on the commercial team. 

Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze and compile incentives for each territory and product vertical. 
    • Federal and State and Local Medium duty electric vehicle vouchers and rebates.
    • Initial focus on CA, OR, WA, NY, NJ, MA, TX, FL
    • Incentives and funding for medium duty vehicles and also for infrastructure and vehicle-related technologies
    • Charging and infrastructure incentives from utilities, air districts, etc. 
  • Research and identify new grant funding opportunities and occasionally help guide and co-write new grants and RFPs alongside customers and dealers
  • Create sales presentations and one pagers that the sales team can share with prospective customers about the incentives and funding in their territories
  • Create spreadsheets that highlights the acquisition costs including incentives
  • Attend virtual webinars and occasional in person seminars on incentive and grant funding from the California Energy Commission, CARB, CALSTART, NYSERDA  and various utilities to stay updated on programs
  • Communicate with customers on incentives available in their region and guide them through the application process
  • Assist customers with compliance activities related to incentives and government grant programs 
  • Work with internal engineering teams and external partners to gather information and conduct analyses related to product eligibility for incentives

Skills/Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of Commercial EV incentives for vehicles and chargers, especially in CA with CARB and Air Quality Management Districts preferred
  • Ability to create slides for customer presentations and create spreadsheets outlining overall pricing including incentives. (Google Slide and Sheets experience preferred but high proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel accepted with willingness to learn Google slides and sheets)
  • Bachelors degree.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a sales, customer success, program management, or consulting role preferred.
  • 4 days a week required onsite in our Garden Grove office.
