About This Role: Crusoe Energy is seeking an experienced and proactive Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our expanding team. This pivotal role will be an integral part of our Digital Infrastructure Group (DIG) and will be primarily responsible for providing dedicated HSE support to construction activities undertaken by this department. The position can be based in either our Cherry Creek / Denver Office or our San Francisco Office, offering flexibility for the right candidate. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of technical safety principles, with a strong emphasis on construction-related activities, and will be a highly proactive team player with exceptional communication skills, capable of interacting effectively across all organizational levels. This is a full-time position.

What You’ll Be Working On:

  • Operational Risk Management: Partner closely with various operational teams within the DIG organization to gain a thorough understanding of operational risks and collaboratively develop effective action plans to mitigate these risks.

  • Contractor HSE Performance Management: Evaluate the HSE performance of contractors and conduct meetings with high-risk contractors to clearly establish performance expectations and drive positive HSE results.

  • Incident Investigation and Corrective Actions: Ensure that all HSE-related incidents are thoroughly investigated, and appropriate corrective actions are promptly established and implemented to prevent future recurrences.

  • HSE Documentation Development: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE processes, detailed procedures, practical guidelines, and other essential documentation as required to support safe and compliant operations.

  • Incident and Statistical Tracking: Accurately track all incidents, compile relevant HSE statistics, and generate informative reports for DIG projects.

  • Regulatory Interpretation and Application: Demonstrate the ability to interpret complex HSE regulations, internal policies, and established procedures, and make sound and effective business decisions in alignment with these requirements.

  • HSE Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Health and Safety-related topics and critical issues across the entire DIG organization.

  • Cross-Functional Support: May also provide HSE support to other operational groups within Crusoe, such as Cloud data centers, as needed.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Educational Background: A university degree is preferred, although equivalent relevant experience will also be carefully considered.

  • Relevant Industry Experience: A minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience is required. Significant experience in construction is essential, with preference given to candidates who have worked on large-scale construction projects.

  • HSE Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive technical knowledge of various HSE rules and regulations at both the Federal and State levels is required.

  • HSE Implementation Experience: Direct and demonstrable experience in the practical implementation of HSE rules, regulations, company policies, and established procedures is a must.

  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex HSE concepts to diverse audiences.  

  • Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in standard office software and HSE data management systems.

  • Work Authorization: Candidates must be legally authorized to work and reside in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid in the range of $140,000, - $210,000. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
