Your Role

The Head of European Expansion is a senior leadership role within the Sales organization at envelio. The position is dedicated to driving our market entry and growth across European countries, with a focus on building strong local presence and establishing scalable sales and business development structures. By shaping and executing market entry strategies, the role plays a pivotal part in extending envelio’s impact in the European energy sector.

The Head of EU Expansion is responsible for defining and implementing go-to-market strategies, recruiting and leading Business Development Managers across multiple countries, and ensuring successful customer acquisition and expansion in each market. Combining strategic foresight with hands-on execution, this role bridges the gap between local business development and envelio’s global growth objectives.

How You Make an Impact

Leadership & Team Building
  • You lead, coach, and develop a team of Business Development Managers across priority European markets, ensuring strong performance, skill growth, and motivation
  • You provide strategic guidance through regular check-ins, constructive feedback, and tailored development plans to foster market expertise
  • You cultivate a high-performance culture built on ownership, accountability, and cross-border collaboration
Market Strategy & Execution
  • You analyze market opportunities to identify and prioritize European expansion targets in collaboration with the envelio management team
  • You craft country-specific go-to-market strategies, complete with compelling value propositions and effective partner approaches
  • You personally drive key sales activities by participating in customer meetings, tender processes, and representing envelio at industry events
  • You maintain deep awareness of regulatory landscapes, industry developments, and competitive movements to continuously optimize strategies
Partnerships & Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • You identify, establish, and nurture strategic partnerships with industry associations and key stakeholders at both EU and national levels
  • You work closely with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to enhance product-market fit across diverse European markets
  • You align closely with Sales and Marketing leadership to develop scalable processes and best practices across all regions

Your Profile

  • You hold a degree in electrical engineering, business administration with a specialisation in technology management, or a comparable field of study
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset, combining strategic foresight with hands-on execution to build new markets and structures from the ground up
  • You demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, proactively addressing challenges and driving initiatives forward beyond formal responsibility
  • You apply an analytical and data-driven approach, leveraging market insights and KPIs to prioritize opportunities, guide decisions, and refine go-to-market strategies
  • You bring several years of experience in business development, market entry strategy, or technical consulting in the energy sector, ideally across multiple European markets
  • You possess strong technical competence, with the ability to develop in-depth knowledge of market requirements, envelio's value proposition and unique selling points
  • You have excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, ideally with a track record in establishing partnerships
  • You maintain a collaborative mindset, fostering close alignment with cross-functional teams such as Product, Marketing, and Customer Success to ensure successful market entry and scaling
  • You demonstrate proven leadership and people management skills, with experience in building and leading international teams
  • You are fluent in English. Proficiency in other EU languages is a strong plus
