About the company:

Nitricity is a startup addressing climate change, and we are looking for your help! We are innovating in an essential chemical industry that supports global food systems. The bedrock of modern agriculture is the production, distribution, and application of the essential nutrients found in fertilizers. However, nitrogen fertilizer is currently made in coal- and gas-fired facilities located hundreds to thousands of miles away from farmers who need it. The $120B industry is responsible for as much as 6% of global CO2eq emissions. Nitricity Inc. has developed a new technology that produces fertilizer using air, water, and renewable electricity (e.g., solar). Growers will have access to a more reliable, low cost, and environmentally friendly fertilizer supply. We are actively growing our team to help us turn this vision into a reality.

About Nitricity

Nitricity is transforming how fertilizer is produced through innovative technology that makes agriculture cleaner, more sustainable, and more resilient.

Headquartered in California, U.S., and backed by top-tier venture capital investors, Nitricity is entering an exciting new phase of growth as we scale our technology to market.

The Opportunity

You will lead the field trial network (design, execution and analysis) to generate solid agronomic evidence, coordinate the scale-up of new products with technology centers, and use that evidence to define which products we launch, for which crops and with which application protocols. You will work hand in hand with growers, agronomists, distributors and the R&D&I team.

Location

Spain (based mainly along the Levante coast and southern regions), with national travel and occasional international travel (Europe).

  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Identify the needs of the Spanish market.
  • Work with R&D on the adaptation and validation of formulations, and contribute to technical positioning.
  • Provide agronomic data for registration and organic certification dossiers, in coordination with the regulatory team.
  • Collaborate with technology and research centers on the scale-up of new products, providing agronomic validation in the field.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team and act as Nitricity’s technical reference in the field: present and defend trial results to growers, farm managers and agronomists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomic Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Master’s in Agronomy or equivalent.
  • Experience managing high-value crops such as vegetables (greenhouse and open field), leafy greens, citrus, stone fruit, subtropical fruit, olives and berries.
  • At least 5 years of experience in field trials and/or development of fertilizers or biostimulants.
  • Strong background in plant nutrition and biostimulation.
  • Experience in designing agronomic trials and analyzing their data.
  • Experience working directly with growers, cooperatives, distributors and technology centers.
  • Minimum B2 level of English (mandatory); you must be able to hold a fluent conversation in English.
  • Valid category B (car) driving license, as the role involves frequent travel to farms.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in R&D&I projects with technology centers.
  • General knowledge of the regulatory framework for fertilizers and organic farming.
  • Experience in fertilizer registration or organic certification.
  • Experience in the industrial scale-up of fertilizers, biostimulants or other agricultural inputs.

  • Private health insurance
  • Hybrid model: field, remote work and office
  • 40–60% of time spent in the field
