We are looking for Electrical Engineers to join our Field Engineering & Commissioning team. You will be focused on delivering first of a kind, large-scale, modular, and mass manufactured electrolysis Plants. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of the deployment and upkeep of Electric Hydrogen's electrolysis plant, including: DFM support and feedback across teams, developing tools and instruments improve installation, upkeep, and operation, and supporting customer plant installations, start-ups, and turnarounds.

You will report to the manager of the Commissioning team working on a variety of projects focused on building and integrating first of a kind chemical process facilities. This role is remote based but with a 75% travel expectation around the United States and the amount of travel will be based on the current stage of the project cycle.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Program and test Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for use in heavy industry manufacturing systems using the standard set of IEC-1131 languages
  • Program and test site specific code updates for specific customer projects
  • Configure, integrate, and calibrate analytical sensors and instrumentation
  • Develop and execute automated or guided protocols for testing & commissioning of instrumentation, analyzers, devices, and equipment
  • Update and troubleshoot HMI design and programming
  • Update site specific software as part of change management include updates to instrumentation, interlocks, C&E matrices, control loops, and processes historians
  • Provides technical guidance and engineering expertise in support of project site work
  • Create simple, clear, concise work instructions to help inform the installation, configuration, calibration & commissioning of the devices, instruments, and control loops with the plant
  • Proactively identify schedule, cost, and technical risk items, then help identify solutions
  • Provides contractors, customers, & vendors engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Coordinates with EH2 Software Systems design groups as directed by Project/Site Manager
  • Coordinate and oversee the factory acceptance testing of equipment
  • Lead trouble shooting activities pertaining to instrumentation, communication, and control loop issues in customer facilities

Qualifications

  • B.S. Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Equivalent Discipline/Industrial Experience
  • 6+ years industry experience
  • Programming experience on one or more of the following platforms (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Siemens (S7), National Instruments)
  • Programming experience with one or more of the following SCADA systems (FTView SE, Wonderware, Ignition)
  • Experience with common industrial protocols (OPC, HART, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
  • Experience working on chemical or power generation plant is a preference. Experience working during turnarounds and outages or installation and startup of plants is a preference
  • Has developed installation, commissioning, or deployment procedures/processes
  • Worked on projects that involve coordinating between interdisciplinary teams and technical communication

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.​
