About the company:

Neara is a software technology company that provides a physics-enabled digital twin platform specifically designed for electric utility infrastructure. The platform enables utilities to create a behaviourally identical digital model of their entire network, integrating assets, surrounding terrain, weather conditions, and vegetation into a single physics-accurate environment. This allows network operators to simulate real-world scenarios including severe weather events, wildfires, floods, and equipment failures to understand risk, predict outcomes, and prioritize interventions before incidents occur. Neara's mission centers on improving the resilience, safety, and efficiency of energy infrastructure, which directly supports the clean energy transition by helping utilities manage aging grids, reduce outages, and enable the integration of renewable energy sources. The platform addresses critical climate-related challenges such as wildfire mitigation, storm response, and flood management, making it a key tool for utilities facing increasing climate-driven grid risks. By replacing fragmented point solutions with a unified model, Neara helps reduce the environmental and financial costs associated with infrastructure failures and inefficient maintenance. What distinguishes Neara is its use of physics-based simulation rather than statistical approximation, enabling users to move from broad risk awareness to precise failure prediction and actionable planning. The platform supports a wide range of use cases including vegetation analysis, clearance risk assessment, conductor clashing detection, asset lifecycle management, distribution and transmission network design, and regulatory reporting. Neara operates across multiple geographies including the United States, Europe, and Australia and New Zealand, serving major electric utilities seeking to modernize their network management capabilities.

Imagine having the power to stress-test an entire power grid against a hurricane or thunderstorm before the clouds even gather. That is the reality we are creating at Neara.

We use advanced machine learning to create engineering-grade, physics enabled digital twins of electricity grids across four continents, this helps asset owners understand their biggest challenges and bring the most viable solutions to life across millions of kilometres of infrastructure.

By simulating extreme weather and structural stress at a network-wide scale, we empower the world’s largest utilities to pinpoint risks, optimise investments and build a more resilient global energy future.

Our team is a collection of brilliant minds who are fanatical about making a tangible difference in the real world, utilising AI and machine learning to accelerate everything from data classification to complex scenario analysis. We have built a special culture where innovation thrives because everyone owns the mission and we need smart, creative people to help us scale this impact to every corner of the globe.

The Role:

We are launching electrical modelling as a new module in the Neara platform, and we are hiring the person who will own its go-to-market in the United States.

Distribution planners today run their networks on established tools such as CYME and Synergi. We are looking for experienced sales executives or project managers who can articulate the value of Neara’s product, it’s integration into existing software stacks, and manage multi-stream contracting discussions. You will be the first specialist seller for this module in the US. That means real ownership of the playbook, product, and pipeline.

  • Drive the US go-to-market for Neara's electrical modelling module, acting as the industry, business development and pipeline lead for the segment

  • Build and execute the territory and account strategy: segment the market, prioritise the utilities where the pain is sharpest, and land the first reference accounts

  • Run the full sales cycle end to end, from outbound and account research through technical evaluation, procurement and close

  • Navigate large utility organisations across the stakeholder set this module touches - distribution planning, operations, GIS, asset management, engineering, IT and enterprise architecture - and identify which stakeholder the value accrues to in each account

  • Build the commercial narrative for a product that complements rather than replaces the incumbent stack, and make the integration story credible to all stakeholders

  • Partner closely with our Head of Product and CTO: you are the primary channel for market, value and product-market-fit signal back into engineering. This feedback loop is a core part of the job, not an afterthought

  • Work with Enterprise AEs already inside our utility accounts to cross-sell into other functions with a focus on the planning domain, and to bring electrical modelling scope into existing Neara relationships

  • Partner with Marketing to build collateral, campaigns and events that land with a focus on planning and IT audience

  • Present Neara at conferences and industry events to promote the electrical modelling portfolio

  • Support pricing and packaging decisions for this module, including how it is contracted alongside the wider Neara platform

  • Stay sharp on market trends, competitive dynamics, regulatory drivers and customer feedback, and use them to continuously sharpen the approach

Who You Are:

  • 5-7+ years in enterprise sales or business development, with a substantial portion selling software, systems or services into US electric utilities

  • Experience selling into or working within the large energy utility organisations we sell to - you have navigated planning, operations, engineering, GIS, asset and IT, and you know how budget, procurement and technical evaluation processes work in that environment

  • Fluency in utility distribution domain: electrical network modeling, GIS and ADMS integration, system planning and workflow, hosting capacity, DER interconnection, etc. You do not need to be an engineer, but you need to master conversation with the utility personas when it gets technical, without a sales engineer presence

  • Track record selling emerging or first-of-kind products, where the category is not yet defined and you are creating the need as much as answering an RFP

  • Direct experience in selling distribution planning or network modelling solution in the past is a great plus

  • An existing network of relevant relationships across US utilities that you can activate early

  • Comfortable multi-threading complex enterprise deals with long cycles and many stakeholders, and communicating clearly at every level from planner to C-suite

  • Proven ability to translate market and customer signal into clear product input for technical teams

  • Strategic and operationally disciplined: rigorous on pipeline, forecasting and cadence, and able to build structure where none exists yet

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, travel and the pace of a high-growth company. Understanding of modern sales methodologies and how to apply them situationally is a plus
